Sr. Mary GiannaSister Mary Gianna Thornby, DLJC is a convert to the Catholic faith. Growing up without any faith, she had a powerful conversion experience after surviving the shootings at Columbine High School in Littleton, CO.

Sr. Mary Gianna was welcomed into the Catholic Church at the age of 19, while attending Franciscan University of Steubenville. After graduation, she served a year with NET (National Evangelization Teams) Ministries and attended the Emmanuel School of Mission in Rome, Italy, where she had opportunities for mission in Italy, France, Ireland, and Scotland.

At the age of 25, Sr. Mary Gianna experienced the call to religious life. Entering the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ on Aug. 25, 2010, she made her first profession of vows on Aug. 10, 2013.

Sr. Mary Gianna is currently serving as Administrator Assistant at The Ark and The Dove, home of Baptism in the Holy Spirit in Gibsonia, PA, and is also involved in vocation promotion in the area. She will be making her Final Vows Aug. 4, 2018.

The Lord has given Sr. Mary Gianna a passionate love for life and the desire to help lead others to the fullness of life.

"You will show me the path to life..." (Psalm 16:11).
